Dr. Leibowitz is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) and Board Certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also a Certified Medical Director, American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. His experience includes having served as a Medical Director of a 400 bed nursing home, Medical Director of a consortium of Department of Health regulated ambulatory care rehabilitation facilities, and Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Services of a Rehabilitation Hospital. He has served on the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School, and concurrently served as an Attending Physician at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation.
Dr. Leibowitz has been in active clinical practice for more than 25 years. He is experienced in performing IME's/Independent Medical Examinations, and providing Life Care Plans, disability file reviews, peer reviews, and expert witness and other litigation support services. He is on the medical staff of New York hospitals and has extensive experience providing patient care in nursing homes.
A graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin and of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program at Temple University Hospital, he also obtained post-graduate residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Long Island Jewish Medical Center: an academic campus of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. He is published in the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation.
